Curated Looks

Fall inspired

Nothing screams fall, like mixing prints and textures with warm earthy tones. One thing we really love mixing are light and dark tones, adding a bit of contrast. Design tip: make sure your arrangements are low enough so guests can mingle across the table. Also, create what we like to call, “moments” so every guest has something pretty to look at.

The table that is bold, yet, simple. We partnered with a local Los Angeles florist, Primary Petals to curate made-to-order florals to be delivered right to your door. Designer tip: try to design within the style of your home. Use elements like napkins to tie in colors and not to mention adding a little special something (i.e. name cards, florals, etc.) at every place setting.

Earthy warm tones aren’t for everyone. This table setting will look good year-round. We love the natural textures and tones, complementing all your favorite Thanksgiving dishes.

How to Set Up Your Table for Thanksgiving

As most would say, you typically decorate the table around the food. We believe that is true, but it is also important to create a table setting that will bring you and your guests joy. Thanksgiving shouldn’t be a stressful holiday and here are some easy steps to help you prepare!

Step one: Table Cloth, Runner or Chargers

We recommend using a table cloth If you have an extremely nice or has seen better days, table. Runners are a great element to add color or texture to run through the center of the table. If you’re planning to place items family style, use placemats to container your guests place setting.

Step two: China and Flatware

The rule of thumb for your table items:

Plate always goes in the center, the forks always go on the left then spoons and knives on the right. Always place in the order in which they will be used, with the first utensil on the far end from the plate, the second utensil closer toward the plate, and so on. Also important to keep in mind knife blades should be turned toward the plate.

Step three: Napkins

You can decorate with napkins two ways –– as the focal point or support to a gorgeous plate. Napkins are the perfect additional element to the place setting.

Step four: Glasses

If there is only one wine glass, place it at the top right of the plate above the main-course knife. If you’re planning to serve a variety of wine, place them in the order you will be serving (i.e. white to red).

Step five: Place Cards or Decorative Elements

We recommend using place cards if you’re hosting a mix of family and friends to avoid that awkward moment when guests seat themselves.

Step six: Decorations

Add your Thanksgiving decorative elements like the cheese boards, candle sticks, decorative water craft etc. Its important to keep space on the table if you’re planning to serve family-style at the table.
