Jen's 2021 Roundup

Earlier this year, I rediscovered the blog I had in my twenties—Fueled by Jenergy (I love puns, what can I say?) and I was reminded of just how beautiful it can be to document the highlights in your life to look back on. I used to do a monthly wrap-up post, where I shared the things that I was loving (or doing) at the moment. I would share everything from goodies I found on the internet, clothes, life milestones, home decor, small wins, you name it, it was in there! So, I started these monthly roundups this year as a way to get back into that tradition. Now that it’s been almost a year of monthly roundups, I can confirm that bringing these back has been so special. Reading through each one feels like looking through a time capsule, and it’s so much fun. To celebrate the end of 2021, I’m going to do one last roundup: my 2021 roundup! I’m going to be reflecting on the top 10 milestones, products, things I watched/listened to, projects and more. My intention with this post is that it allows you to take a trip down memory lane yourself and reflect on the growth and change that 2021 saw for you. This was a great year for me in so many ways, full of high highs and low lows. But overall, I wouldn’t trade any of it. So here’s to the new year. May it bring you love, light, and beautiful changes. Here’s the best of 2021!

2021’s Top 10 Jeneral Highlights (in no particular order…ok, except #1!)

  1. I got ENGAGED! In April, my lovely fiancé caught me totally by surprise when he asked me to marry him in the most special way. 💕

  2. We moved into a new family home in June! In May, I prepped for my move alongside all of you, giving you tips, tricks and a very real glance into my life as I purged and decluttered. The LIJ team then helped us get settled, taking the new place from a house to our home. This year is the first time I’ve fully lived with so many of the systems I’ve set up for so many clients over the years and let me tell you...it’s even more than it’s cracked up to be!

  3. LIJ underwent an entire company rebrand. This included new logos, color schemes, and even a name change: Closets in Jeneral became LIJ Spaces! We decided to adjust the name to better reflect our services, since we do so much more than just closets!

  4. The launch of LIJ Academy, a community created for pro organizers, happened in July! We’ve released a master class, 2 guides, 1-on-1 coaching and an in-depth look into training a team of organizers so far in an effort to help anyone with a passion for organizing set up their own dream business.

  5. I had the exciting opportunity to work with Wells Fargo to introduce their new Active Cash Card, which takes the guesswork out of choosing multiple credit cards. As an organizational expert, it’s so important for me to be conscious of the clutter in my wallet. With the Active Cash Card, cardholders can earn 2% cash rewards on purchases. We did two amazing wallet edit workshops with Marsha from @thefinancebar where we walked viewers through the steps to organize and simplify their wallet organization!

  6. I was so honored to be featured on Good Morning America where I talked all things wallet organization with Wells Fargo, pantry organization, and WFH office organization! See the segment here if you missed it.

  7. I spoke as a panelist at the How To: Summit event for professional organizers held by my dear friends and founders of Home Sort! This event was such a great space for professional organizers alike to come together, commiserate, and build this community up.

  8. I was excited to partner with DSW, sharing my tips for staying on top of things during the craziness of the holiday season! I also shared my holiday gift picks—see it all here!

  9. We really kicked the LIJ office renovation/redesign into gear. It’s over halfway there and I can’t tell you just how exciting seeing this place come together is. I’ve always thought of it as a place where anyone can gather and instantly feel relaxed and at home. We have offices, desk spaces, a conference room, and (naturally) a ping pong table! It’s going to be so great.

  10. My first book, Life in Jeneral, finally launched on December 7th! This labor of love has been the most incredible thing I’ve ever experienced. To see my life’s mission make an impact on people globally is truly surreal. The book was included in the Amazon Editors’ Holiday Picks, it’s being featured in Target’s in-store wellness display (be sure to grab a copy if you see it!), and perhaps best of all, it’s been endorsed by a client and my dear friend Glennon Doyle. To celebrate, we had a little sip & sign launch party, where I got to meet so many of you in person and hear about your hopes for your home.

Be sure to join the LIJ Book Club if you haven’t already—it’s going to be a 3 month endeavor, and I’ll be with you every step of the way! We’ll go through the book together and I’ll be sharing specific tips on how you can get organized once and for all in 2022. Sign up here to get the book club workbook and follow along!
